Spaces

A space is a room your team shares captures into. Publish a capture to a space and everyone in it can open it, read its dashboard and logs, and investigate it, while it stays yours. Their investigations on it can be shared with the space too.

Spaces are part of an organization (an enterprise account), and anyone in yours can create one. A personal account isn’t in an organization, so it has no spaces. How an organization is set up is in Teams, enterprise & SSO.

Create a space

  1. In the console, open Organization, then the Spaces tab, and choose New space.
  2. Give it a name and, if you like, a description of what it’s for.
  3. Pick who else is in it, from anyone in your organization. You can pick up to 200 people here, and a space holds up to 500.

Anyone in a space can add or remove people later from its Members tab.

Share a capture into it

  1. In your file list, choose the people icon (Publish to a space) on a capture you uploaded.
  2. Pick the space and confirm.

Publishing doesn’t move or copy anything, and only you can rename, delete, re-run or share the capture into another space. Share a bugreport and your colleagues get every log inside it.

You can only publish captures you uploaded yourself, into a space you’re in.

Work in a space

A space has these tabs:

  • Captures: what’s been shared here, and by whom.
  • Investigations: investigations run on this space’s captures. An investigation belongs here when, as it started, this was the one space the person running it was in that held every capture it used. Otherwise it stays private to them. Work done before a capture was published isn’t listed.
  • Activity: captures shared and removed, and people added and removed, with who did it and when.
  • Members: who’s in the space.
  • Usage: investigation units spent on this space’s investigations, per person and billing period.

Investigations and follow-up questions count against the allowance of whoever runs them, not the capture owner’s; how allowances work across a team is in Usage across the team. A colleague sees only the source citations their own access allows, so they may see fewer than you do; see Source grounding.

In your file list, filter to My captures, Shared with me, or one space.

Remove a capture or delete a space

  • Remove a capture: its owner, or an organization owner or admin, chooses Remove on the space’s Captures tab. Investigations run while it was shared stay listed.
  • Delete a space: organization owners and admins can delete one. No capture is deleted: each stays with the person who uploaded it, people lose access to captures that weren’t theirs, and the space’s investigations become private to whoever ran them.

Organization owners and admins can open any space in the organization without being in it. They see its activity, members and usage, but not its captures or other people’s investigations until a member adds them, and the space’s Activity tab shows that they opened it.
